Our goal at Moscardi Physical Therapy is to provide one on one patient care with a Physical Therapist each visit. Exercise programs are individualized according to the patient’s injury. Once range of motion and healing of tissue has been achieved, a thorough strength training program will be initiated. Moscardi Physical Therapy has access to an 8000 square foot gym that has high end cardiovascular equipment and resistive strength machines.

Moscardi Physical Therapy originated in 2004 with the main office located in the Pismo Medical Campus. We are pleased to provide quality outpatient physical therapy to the central coast. We specialize in the rehabilitation process for several musculoskeletal disorders pre and post-surgery. We also offer gym programs for strength and conditioning, balance training for neuromuscular disorders and home health services to aid in gait and transfer training.

MEET THE TEAM

Louis Moscardi, MPT graduated from California State University, Fresno in 2002 with a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy. His undergraduate work was also completed at Fresno State, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Exercise Science.


While attending school, he was employed at Community Hospital, Leon S. Peters Rehabilitation. He provided physical therapy to patients with spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, and patients with cerebral vascular injuries. Louis then took a position with St. Agnes Medical Center where he worked inpatient and outpatient physical therapy. It was in this setting where he received extensive training on the rehabilitation of joint replacements for the knee, hip, and shoulder. He completed his graduate courses with an internship in Fresno, California. The focus in this clinic was manual techniques used by the physical therapist to effectively treat patients after surgery. Upon moving to the central coast Louis took a position in an outpatient physical therapy setting where he continued to provide excellent clinical care. In 2004, Louis opened Moscardi Physical Therapy in the Pismo Medical Campus.

Raised in Santa Maria, Louis returned to the central coast to start a family with his wife Nanci and their daughters Avari and Skylar. Louis is extremely pleased to offer personal, quality care to the individuals who live here. His passion and dedication to the profession offer patients a positive rehabilitation outcome so they can return to work, to play and to live successfully. Louis continues to expand his knowledge and expertise in the field of physical therapy by completing postgraduate courses in Manual Therapy.

Physical Therapist Assistant

Maile P. Doolittle, PTA started working for Moscardi Physical Therapy in 2018. She graduated from California Polytechnic State University in 1999 with a degree in Kinesiology and obtained a license as a Physical Therapist Assistant from The Pacific Skills Institue in Santa Barbara in 2001. Maile is also a certified personal trainer with ACSM since 2007 and received massage therapy training while attending California Polytechnic State University. She continues to take educational classes with an emphasis on outpatient physical therapy.

 

Maile has been providing assistance to those requiring physical therapy in a wide variety of settings including skilled nursing facilities, home health clinics, and outpatient care facilities. She spent several years working in aquatic therapy with seniors and young athletes alike. Maile has always been interested in health, healing, being physically active and providing positive encouragement as well as a steady hand to those in physical recovery.

We are extremely pleased to have Maile join us here at Moscardi Physical Therapy. Her professional and caring attitude has made her a wonderful addition to our facility.
